 The Food Pyramid - including a picture of the food pyramid.Breakfast - 1 cup of skimmed milk, 1 slice of bread (preferably whole grain), 1 Chicken Little Omelet.  To prepare omelet, use the yolk of one egg and the whites of two eggs.  Whip, add salt, pepper, a dash of milk and set aside.

In a pan sprayed with non stick cooking spray, add 1/2 cup of fresh sliced mushrooms, chopped bell peppers - assorted colors if desired, and a couple of sliced black olives.  These ingredients are totally optional, by the way...  Next, cook until tender; remove, add eggs and cook until done on one side, then flip. Add mushroom mixture and 1 slice of cheese to ONE SIDE of the egg. Gently fold. Add 1 cup of fruit OR 1 piece of fruit for dessert.

The Food Pyramid - including a picture of the food pyramid.Lunch Brigade - 1 cup of pasta (preferably whole grain) served with 1/2 cup of your favorite tomato sauce with meat.  Add 1 garlic breadstick, 1 cup of beets (pickled is fine), 1/2 cup of corn, and 1 cup of your favorite fruit OR 1 piece of your favorite fruit.

The Food Pyramid - including a picture of the food pyramid.Dinner - Roast OR bake OR pan-fry (using non stick cooking spray) 1 breast fillet that has been seasoned with dried rosemary, salt and a bit of pepper. Cook until golden brown.  Place into oven-proof pan.  Drain 1 can of asparagus thoroughly. Place asparagus on top of breast. Next, add 1 ounce OR 1 slice of cheese to top.  Bake at 350 degrees (preheated oven) until cheese melts.

Enjoy with 1/ 2 cup of brown rice (add a small pat of butter if desired) plus 1 slice of bread (again, preferably whole grain).  For dessert, enjoy 1 cup of melon (frozen, fresh, cantaloupe, watermelon, honeydew  or even mixed melon balls).

The Food Pyramid - including a picture of the food pyramid.Evening or Bedtime Snack - 1 cup of skimmed milk sweetened with a teaspoon of sugar plus 1 teaspoon of REAL vanilla extract OR rum extract plus 2 ice cubes. Whirl in blender until frothy, then enjoy.
